These photos show part of a development around a house on what most of us would call the naturestrip – traditionally a strip of grass with a specimen tree. Here that has been replaced with a curvy gravel path planted quite heavily to provide some privacy to the house. A combination of natives gives year round interest with textural contrast, seasonal flowers and plenty of visiting birdlife. And – yes – the photo does show an exotic plant flowering nicely amongst the natives!
