A garden in what was an open paddock has been developed around the house to provide wind breaks, wildlife habitat and several ‘rooms' for different use. Over the years old lawn areas have been replaced with soft gravel paths, garden beds and stone feature walls.
The remaining lawn can now be kept in good condition using fewer resources. A water feature can be viewed from several rooms in the house as well as from the grapevine covered deck.
Natural stone paving leads from the lawn area to reveal a dry creek bed planted with natives leading to a resting seat under the shade of a tree. This garden also incorporates a large vegie patch accessed through a rustic gate and a productive fruit tree orchard.
